Overview
Evolva is a tactical shooter which immerses the player in a visually stunning 3D world offering a rich gameplaying experience.

Driven by Computer Artworks A-Life technology, this world and its alien inhabitants form a challenging and actually living environment. Evolva sees the player having to fight against an alien parasite that has infected a planet.

This parasite has an army of guardians to protect it and they will have to be stopped if the player is to be able to ultimately stop the parasite itself.

The player takes control of a team of customisable creatures called Genohunters and guides them through a unique gaming world that mixes the excitement of a fast paced action game with the tactical elements of a strategy game.

Combining strategic decision making and a very healthy dose of shoot 'em up blasting, Interplay’s Evolva adds an original twist to the action genre by utilizing clever algorithms which enable your on-screen characters to evolve as they travel through the game.

The Evolva environment is teeming with life, some hostile, and some docile. Any creature can be blasted into oblivion, and when it is, it explodes into a pile of dead, chunky meat.

And this is where the coolest aspect of Evolva comes into play. The player can then grab a piece of that flesh and incorporate its genetic makeup into the DNA structure of any of the characters.

When enough DNA has been collected and incorporated into a character, that character then evolves in real-time into something slightly different.

Features
There's ice that the player can melt, plants to destroy and even rocks that can be blasted out of the way to create new paths to previously unexplored areas, and open up routes to new missions.

Evolva's environments teem with life, and are very realistic. Computer Arts are using Artificial Life technology to ensure that the creatures and environments behave in a natural way.

The game also features Behavioral Cloning technology that enable the game’s denizens to learn as the game progresses by mimicking the playing techniques that the player develops.

So that means if you run about blasting everything in sight, enemy creatures will expect those tactics when they see you coming. Set up an ambush, and the next time you try it, the enemy will attempt to second guess your maneuvers.
