Overview
GothicWelcome to the world of Gothic. War has decimated the land, Orc Hordes are invading human territory and the king of the land needs a lot of ore to forge enough weapons for his army to stand against this threat.

Prisoners from all over the empire are imprisoned in a large magical sphere where they have to work in the mines for the king. You are thrown into the sphere to give a letter to the high mages, this letter may be the turning point on the war against the Orcs.

Gothic 2 & Expansion - Night of the Raven
The mine valley of Khorinis. The glorious days of the once productive mines in this small seaside region were long over.Surrounded by the impenetrable magical barrier, the slaves eked out their miserable existence in this apparently natural prison. One brave man managed to burst the bonds of imprisonment.

Following his own call to freedom, he ventured deep into the subterranean temples. Willing to do whatever was necessary, he went out to banish Evil and destroy the magical barrier forever. Spurred by the hatred of men long-suppressed, the prisoners streamed trough the only pass to freedom.

Gothic 3
The player has saved his home island from the forces of evil in Gothic I and II.Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland. Invading orcs have enslaved the human kingdom. There are but a few free humans in the icy north and the southern desert and a handful of rebels hiding in the forests and mountains of Midland.

There is no simple linear story in Gothic 3 every game will be different and unique but all will ultimately lead you deciding the fate of humankind.
